The Vioxx Heart Attack Risk - What You Need To KnowRecent studies revealed that for individuals who used Vioxx heart attack and stroke risk increased. As a result, in September 2004, the FDA encouraged the manufacturer, Merck, to withdraw the popular pain reliever from the market. Merck responded accordingly, thereby marking the end of the prescription anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).
